1. The Ayres Hotel is $139 for 2 people, queen or king bed. (You can put up to 4 adults in a room with 2 queen beds for an extra $10 per adult. Kids under 13 years are free.) It is clean, has 2 outdoor pools, a restaurant, and a small workout room. Seems to be the best deal in town! It’s at 325 Bristol. 800-322-9992. www.ayrescostamesa.com
2. Really cheap is the Sandpiper Motel at $68.90 tax incl! (How can this be?!) It’s on 1967-1977 Newport Blvd as you approach 19th Street. It seems okay.? 800-648-9137. email is Sandpipermotel@yahoo.com

Really FUN & SWANKY are the Newport Dunes Cottages! from $185 (no linens, bring sleeping bags) to $295 for a large cottage which sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids to a beachfront one bedroom and loft for $365. This one also sleeps 4 adults so price could be split. kitchens!
