okay–done deal–reunion at the NB yacht club (shark island for peter edward)–august 25th sat eve.  Bill Deanne  put his stamp on it too after having us check out lots of other places–but that makes me feel better, seeing that he’s our “treasurer”.    Nothing is cheap anymore–the old Tale of the Whale was even more money.  so there we have it.

In another time and place, the head of state would have sent to the Oracle, who in turn would have sacrificed a dove and divined prospects for the New Year by “reading” the animal’s innards.

Today, the sacrifice was not avian. It was a mammal from the Midwest. Specifically, a Wolverine from Ann Arbor. Reading of the entrails augurs a good year for 2007.

It was a little like the time when we were all at Harbor High. Then, (more…)
